Day Camp Program at Camp Cromwell
The Day Camp Program is available to all Boys’ Club
members. The program’s goal is to provide purposeful growth in the
out-of-doors during the months of July and August.
Through guided fun, activities and experiences, day
campers are engaged in practical understandings and behaviors of
citizenship, civility, demography and safety as appropriate in our
diverse and changing culture. They will have fun, build personal
identity, make friends, and enjoy nature in their small, same-aged
groups as they interact with each other and venture from one
activity to another.
Each Boys’ Club member is a part of a small group of
8-13 other members and two Counselors. Their small group
participates in all the camp activities together, receiving special
attention from their Counselors.
There are a wide variety of activities at Camp
Cromwell. We have two swimming pools, archery, low & high ropes
courses, indoor & outdoor basketball courts, athletic fields, arts &
crafts, performing arts, farm animals, and nature awareness
activities. A tasty, balanced lunch is provided daily to all
members.
The Day Camp Staff consists of qualified and trained
Counselors, experienced or certified Activity Specialists, and
Health Care, Food Service and Maintenance personnel. College-age or
older counselors and specialists are the rule of thumb, although
selected high school staff are hired. The Staff is led by
professional educators and youth developers, including the Director
of Camping Glenn Oswald, a Certified Camp Director of the American
Camp Association with over 30 years experience in organized camps,
education and youth development.
Camp Cromwell is an American Camp Association
Accredited Camp.
