The purpose of the Citizenship Program is to create and maintain high
standards of health, education, character, and citizenship. Members
are guided and encouraged to make a connection between improving themselves
and making a contribution to society and/or their community. The Citizenship
Program provides the venue for members to recognize and appreciate the
value of giving back to their community or those less fortunate. Through
service and volunteerism, members learn that they are contributors to,
rather than dependants of, their communities and society. Citizenship
promotes understanding, self-confidence and respect for oneself and
others. It fosters positive reinforcement, builds self-esteem and leadership.
It teaches life skills and affords information for living a responsible
and fulfilled life.
