In our efforts to participate more fully in serving the community at large, the Explorer Department and the Physical Department teamed up with the American Heart Association's
Hoops for Heart to raise awareness of heart disease in children while also raising funds to provide care for those children currently undergoing treatment. From Monday, February 7 through-Thursday, February 17, 2011,BCNY members asked parents, friends, and staff to sponsor them for the culminating activity, which took place at 4:00 p.m.on Friday, February 18 in the large gym at Harriman. The boys competed in various basketball clinics to try to reach their personal fund raising goal. We are so happy to announce the boys raised a total of $2,600, surpassing their goal of $2,000! BCNY is so proud of the boys!
