Pick Up and Visitor Policy

Pick Up Procedure:

  • Explorers must be picked up every day by an authorized adult. This adult must sign the explorer out at the front desk and the member must "scan out" with his card.
  • Junior and Senior members may leave the clubhouse on their own but must "scan out" with their cards. If you require your son to be picked up by an authorized adult (i.e. not be allowed to leave the clubhouse on his own) please complete the Junior Required Pick Up form and return to the clubhouse Registrar.
  • Parents must pick up their son(s) on the hour (not in-between the hour) during program time. This will avoid disruption to our members' program time and ensure they receive the full benefit of our program options.
  • There may be special occasions where a parent must pick up his/her son early. We are asking, in these circumstances, parents call the front desk at least 30 minutes prior to arriving, (212) 534-2661. This will help us organize and prepare for your son(s) to be ready for pick up and assist us in continuing to execute ongoing programing

Visitor Waiting Area:

  • In order to assure the safety of our members, parents and visitors must wait in the designated "Visitor Waiting Area" for their son to arrive from programs. This location will be clearly marked near the lobby of the clubhouse.

Visitors in the Building:

  • In order to go on a clubhouse tour, accompany a member to a program or visit a department, parents and outside visitors must check in with the front desk and receive a Visitor's Pass.

Late Pick Up Policy

  • We recognize that, on very rare occasions, a parent or guardian may be delayed in picking up their child by the end of programming but we must stress the importance of sticking to our dismissal schedule. If you know that you are running late, please call the front desk at (212) 534-2661.
  • After the second late pick-up a meeting will be scheduled with you and the Clubhouse Director and/or Clubhouse Social Worker to discuss a plan to ensure your son can be picked up on time moving forward.

Registration

  • Boys must be at least six years of age to register. A copy of a birth certificate or valid passport is required.
  • There is a general membership fee $5.00 per year (September through June) and a summer membership fee of $25.00 per summer (July and August).

Home and Emergency Numbers

A valid emergency phone number must be on file. Parents must inform the Registrar at (212) 534-2923 of any changes in contact information as soon as the change is known to ensure we have the most accurate information on file.

Immunization Record

Your child’s immunization information must be up-to-date and submitted with the membership application. If any additional shots are administered after you have submitted this information, please come in and update your child’s records.

Physical Examination Form

All members must submit a physical examination form that is less than two years old, especially if they would like to use the gym or the pool, attend camp, or go on trips. A copy of this form is included in the membership application. You may also get one from the Registrar. All forms must be signed and stamped by the clinic or physician.

New Member Orientation

New members receive an orientation regarding life at the Gerry Clubhouse. Rules, expectations, introduction to staff, and a clubhouse tour are part of this process. Parents must attend an orientation.
