At the end of each cycle the Boys’ Club hosts the I AM BCNY Awards where members receive awards for competence, confidence, connectedness and character-richness — also known as BCNY’s “4Cs”.  Each clubhouse’s I AM BCNY awards ceremony recognizes members in each age group who embody the values of the Boys’ Club and are positive influences in the BCNY community.

The Awards:

Competence Award: Members who are competent show mastery of concepts taught in the game room through BCNY Core Programs.

Confidence Award: Members who are confident show growth in a skill or positive character trait, and exhibit determination in learning new skills in the face of obstacles and adversity.

Character-Rich Award: Members who are character-rich show positive decision-making in the game room and the clubhouse. When faced with difficult decisions, character-rich members choose the ethical and moral path. Members who display character-richness help their peers achieve success in the game room and are role models for good sportsmanship, leadership and collaboration with others.

Connected Award: Members who are connected show strengths in their interpersonal connections with their peers in the clubhouse. Members exemplify what it means to be a positive contributing member to the game room culture.
