Gerry Clubhouse

The Elbridge T. Gerry, Jr. Clubhouse was originally known as the Jefferson Park Clubhouse due to its proximity to Thomas Jefferson Recreation Center in East Harlem. The clubhouse opened in 1927, boasting six floors, an indoor pool, outdoor play areas, and a large gymnasium. In 2007, it was renamed the Elbridge T. Gerry, Jr. Clubhouse, in honor of Ebby Gerry, a long-time Board Trustee and E. H. Harriman’s great-great grandson, and continues to serve East Harlem, the Bronx, and many other neighborhoods.
